    Summary

    • Great Jaw is a dangerous Leviathan found deep underwater.
    • Entering it carelessly can trap you under extreme pressure.
    • The creature is one of the best early-game sources of Lithium.

Since Subnautica 2 is an underwater survival title, you will encounter a wide variety of fauna while exploring the deep oceans. One such creature is the Great Jaw, a massive Leviathan known for trapping players inside its shell-like mouth. If the creature closes while you are still inside, the extreme pressure can quickly become fatal.

    • Start moving toward the south-southwest direction shown on your HUD.
    • After travelling roughly 300 meters, dive down to a depth of around 100 meters.
    • At this point, you will spot the Great Jaw, a massive Leviathan with its mouth open.
    • Carefully approach and prepare to enter the creature.

How To Enter Great Jaw in Subnautica 2

Although entering the Great Jaw may appear simple at first, the process can quickly become dangerous. Near its entrance, you will notice several red-colored threads. Touching any of these triggers the creature to close its mouth, trapping you inside under extreme pressure. Once fully closed, escaping becomes very difficult. Therefore, you need to move carefully while entering and avoid making contact with the red threads.

Why is Great Jaw Important in Subnautica 2?

Great Jaw is one of the best early-game locations for farming Lithium. Once you are inside, you will find its deposits attached to the side walls and scattered across the bottom surface. You need to use the Sonic Resonator to break the nodes to collect the resource.
