Can You Run In Little Rocket Lab?

By Jorge AguilarOctober 8, 20254 Mins Read

In Little Rocket Lab, your character, Morgan, usually moves at a decent pace. However, there’s more than one way you can really speed her up and make getting around St. Ambroise much more efficient. When you first start, a slow pace is the default way to move. However, for those moments when you really need to hustle or just want to maximize your productivity in the short in-game day, the game has a few temporary tricks.

n Little Rocket Lab, you won’t be able to just start running right out of the gate, but it’s a feature you’ll definitely unlock as you make your way through the game’s story. When you first start playing as Morgan, you’ll notice your character moves at a standard walk, and honestly, it can feel a little slow, especially when you’re trekking across the growing town and navigating your increasingly complicated factory setups.

This initial absence of a dedicated “run” button or a consistently faster movement speed is actually a deliberate design choice that fits the game’s cozy automation style and its focus on a more relaxed, unhurried pace. You’ll be able to move faster, just keep on playing.

If you’re looking for something more permanent and significant, you’ll get a big speed increase as you push through the main story of Little Rocket Lab. Once you hit Chapter 2, you’ll unlock a dedicated mechanic that lets Morgan move faster. However, until you reach Chapter 2, you’ll need to stick with tried and true methods. This is something that improved from the original demo.

Basically, this progression makes managing your rocket-building a whole lot more streamlined. It’s great because as your factory gets bigger and more complicated, your ability to move keeps up, preventing the game from feeling slow because of long travel times.

Your movement speed in Little Rocket Lab really changes as you play. When you first start, your character, Morgan, just moves at a standard pace. But don’t worry, there are definitely ways to speed things up and even unlock a proper running mechanic. This is a super common question because, let’s be honest, who doesn’t want to get around faster, especially when you’re dealing with huge factories and exploring the cool town of St. Ambroise?

One of the first and easiest ways to go faster is by grabbing some coffee, which also helps you stay awake. You can get it at Jamie’s bakery, and it gives you a temporary but pretty huge boost to your run speed for the entire day. This makes it an invaluable early-game trick, especially when you’re zipping between your growing factory, the university for research, or different resource spots.

Just a heads-up, though: coffee gets cold overnight, so if you want that daily benefit, you’ll need to make a little “morning pilgrimage for caffeine.” I think this actually creates a pleasant routine in your gameplay, weaving your need for speed right into the town’s social life.

Getting around the charming town of St. Ambroise and its surrounding areas efficiently in Little Rocket Lab is absolutely key if you want to make the most of your in-game days. The game starts you off at a nice, relaxed pace, but as you go, a few awesome methods pop up that seriously boost your movement speed. This lets you cover more ground, manage your ever-expanding factory, and actually hang out with the community without feeling like you’re constantly rushing in Little Rocket Lab.
