Subnautica 2: How To Get And Use Celestine

By Pranshu AryanMay 15, 20263 Mins Read

    Summary

    • Celestine is an important resource in Subnautica 2.
    • You can find it deep inside the water by breaking Celestine deposits.
    • It is used in making lots of useful items, like Strontium and the Modification Station.

Subnautica 2 just launched in Early Access, and there are lots of materials you will be searching for, like Celestine. This resource, although not very rare, can still be difficult to find, especially for beginners. This is because it is found quite far away and deep down.

You can find Celestine deposits underwater at a depth of approximately 250-300 meters. One of the locations for this ore is the Alien Ruins, located around 1400 meters to the east of the Life Pod.

Once you are near this location, dive down into the nearby trenches, and you will spot some silver-grayish crystals. Break these using the Charged Blast from the Sonic Resonator to collect them.

Note: Don’t swim outside your vehicle for too long, as you might encounter dangerous predators lurking in the area. If you do not feel confident, maneuver your ship as close to the ores as possible, so you get to spend the least amount of time outside.

The first instance of Celestine’s use will likely be for one of two things: Strontium or a Modification Station. Strontium is an important resource that is used in making many important items for progression. Moreover, the Modification Station lets you create upgrades for your vehicles. So, Celestine becomes a crucial part of making progress.

However, even outside of these items, several items need Celestine. They are:

    ItemStationCelestine Needed
    Axum PotHabitat Builder1
    Axum Street LampHabitat Builder2
    Axum Wall LampHabitat Builder1
    Modification StationHabitat Builder2
    StrontiumProcessor2
Tadpole Depth Module Mk. 1Modification Station3

The first three are not the most useful items, being mostly decorative in nature. However, the latter three items are undoubtedly the more useful of the bunch. Therefore, you should consider saving Celestine for these three items, and only crafting the pots and lamps later on.

    FAQs

Why is Celestine important in Subnautica 2?

Celestine itself is not used in a lot of resources, as shown above. However, Strontium is an important resource that is used in many upgrades, like the Strike Armor and Feedback Resonator. This, in turn, makes Celestine an important resource to acquire.

What are some other locations to find Celestine?

Although we have not personally checked these spots, some users have mentioned finding this at the Alien Power Plant and the Alien Observatory.
