Can You Look At Previous Mail You Got In Little Rocket Lab?

Little Rocket Lab gives you a lot of mail as time goes on. Due to this, it’s easy to miss a few messages or forget what they said entirely. Luckily, the developer has been vocal about previous mail and what may come.

Can I Look At The Previous Day’s Mail In Little Rocket Lab?

In Little Rocket Lab, you can’t currently look back at mail from previous days. One user actually brought this up, asking if there was a way to re-read letters, specifically remembering one about a donation box. A developer jumped in and clarified that the feature is “no currently” available, but they totally agreed it was “definitely a good idea” and said they’d add it to their development “pile.” So, while it’s missing right now, it sounds like it’s on their radar for a future update. Once the 12am point hits then your mail is gone.

The mail in the game seems to be a super direct communication channel, hitting you with timely info about new happenings, available items, and other general announcements. For example, a mail pop-up about new backpacks at Cliff’s general store let players know they could expand their inventory. Another message mentioned that donation bins were available, hinting at a way to get rid of unwanted components. These messages are pretty crucial for keeping up with the game’s mechanics, economic opportunities, and what’s going on with the characters.

Since mail access is only temporary, if you don’t read a message right away or just forget what it said, you’re out of luck—there’s no in-game archive to check later, like in the demo. This design choice might be there to encourage immediate engagement with the updates, but it can unfortunately lead to players missing out on important details or having to rely on memory for crucial info. To be fair, the developer being open to the idea is a good sign that we might eventually get the convenience of an in-game mailbox to revisit past communications and better plan our factory and town activities.

Why Can’t I Find The Old Mail In Little Rocket Lab?

In Little Rocket Lab, wanting to revisit old mail, especially those letters you got right when you started the game, isn’t a feature right now. This question actually pops up in community chats, with one player specifically wondering where to find a letter that mentioned a donation box. A developer jumped in to answer, saying, “Heya! There’s no currently, but it’s definitely a good idea! Will throw it on the pile :)”

That tells us the developers know it would be a useful and cool thing to have, but it just wasn’t put in when the game launched. So, if you’re trying to remember the details from some of that early-game correspondence, like maybe the location of a store for a bigger backpack that an NPC told you about in a starter mail, you won’t find a dedicated archive for those messages in the game.

The initial design of the game, at least, doesn’t seem to prioritize keeping a permanent record of old communications. Maybe that’s a deliberate choice to make players pay attention to the information right when they get it, or it could just be an oversight from the early development stages. The feedback from the community, which you can see in the forums, clearly shows that players think it’s valuable to be able to review info given through mail, especially for instructions or hints that might matter later on in Little Rocket Lab.
