The High Priestess is a main story boss and part of the Forgotten Relics quest. This quest starts when you talk to John at camp, and culminates in a fight against this beast.
It is recommended to have at least level five armor before attempting this quest. Moreover, the higher the weapon level, the more damage you will be doing. Apart from this, you should also prepare some items in advance before you start this boss fight.

Preparations for the High Priestess Boss Fight in Windrose

If you are looking for an easy way to defeat this boss, obtain a good ranged weapon (we used the Dragon’s Breath). To pair with this, you will also need tons of bullets and gunpowder. Lastly, an optional but very helpful addition is extra players in co-op.
Apart from these, general healing items (like bandages) and food will go a long way if you take damage during the fight. These will be crucial in avoiding death.

High Priestess Boss Moveset in Windrose
The boss has a fairly simple moveset, as shown below:
- Swipes: The boss uses its front claws to slash in front of it in an area. Stand farther away to avoid its range.
- Leap: The boss glows red, indicating a dangerous attack, and leaps at you from a distance. You should quickly dodge to the side to avoid taking damage.
- Tongue Slap: The boss shoots its huge tongue up into the air and brings it crashing down in front of it.
- Toxic Spray: High Priestess spits out dangerous substances in an area in front of it. Stick behind it or away from it, so as not to lose a good chunk of health.
- Spin: This is another red attack that usually happens if you stick behind and close to the boss. It spins and uses its limbs to attack anyone unfortunate enough to be left close to it.
Tips and Strategy To Defeat the High Priestess in Windrose

Here is the best way to defeat this boss:
- The boss will have six armor points, which can be depleted if you shoot the glowing yellow spots on its back enough times.
- The best and safest way to do this is by using a ranged weapon from a safe distance.
- However, the boss does move surprisingly fast, so we recommend facing the boss with some teammates. While the boss is chasing you, your teammates can shoot its weak spot.
- Lastly, once its armor is depleted, the boss will be momentarily stunned. During this opportunity, you should save your bullets if you are running low and feel free to deal damage with your melee weapon.
Repeat this cycle enough times, and the boss should go down, letting you finish the Forgotten Relics quest.
