    Snapshot Summary

    • Build a Staff Schedule Board to set individual worker schedules.
    • You need to achieve a One-Star Rating to build a Staff Schedule Board.
    • A good worker schedule will ensure that you have no unhappy workers.

Choosing the right workers is extremely important in Tavern Keeper. They all come with different traits, specializations, and expectations. Mismanaging them or keeping them tied down with jobs they don’t want will only hamper your productivity and lower the revenue earned by your tavern. This guide details how you can set individual worker schedules to get the most out of them.

Follow these steps to start setting up your own customized worker schedules:

    1. Complete the tutorial and gain a One-star Rating.
    2. Unlock and construct a Staff Schedule Board.
    3. Place this board in the Hallway or the Staffroom.
    4. Build Lockers in the Staffroom for your employees.
    5. Interact with the Staff Schedule Board to open the Schedule Interface.
    6. Select a Worker of your choosing from the Menu that pops up.
    7. Under the employee name, you can see the options to assign a particular role.
    8. Assign them a Role based on their Traits, Worker Tier, and Skill Tier.
    9. Once the role is fixed, move on to assign or change the Work Hours.
    10. Be mindful of each worker’s individual characteristics while assigning them a role to avoid them from being unhappy.

Note: Make sure that you’re interacting with the Staff Schedule Board and not the Room Schedule Board. The Room Schedule Board lets you change the room hours (i.e., when the workers can rest and work) but does not let you specify or set working hours. Build and interact with the Staff Schedule Board to assign working hours to each worker.

    FAQs

What are the benefits of setting worker schedules?

The key benefit of assigning worker schedules based on their traits and tiers is to avoid employee stress reactions. If your workers are unhappy for too long, it negatively impacts your business. Some workers might start stealing from you (food, drink, and gold), some might break things, some might start a fight with customers, and some might just quit.

Can I stop the workers from doing their jobs?

Yes. You may encounter some workers who hate doing certain jobs, such as serving customers. To stop them from doing such jobs, simply go to the Work Schedule Board and toggle the settings off. Make sure you check all the right boxes under ‘Generalists’ options. Once this is done, you can review the schedule again and assign these workers new tasks.

Can I set a customized Generalist role?

Yes. You can set a customized role for individual Generalist staff members if you wish. To do so:

    1. Interact with the Staff Schedule Board to open the Worker Menu.
    2. Click the checkbox below each Generalist worker icon to toggle it on or off.
    3. Select the hours you want that worker to work in that customized role.
    4. Repeat the process with every Generalist staff member to assign them a customized role and work hours.

Why can’t I set individual worker hours?

You might be working with a Room Schedule Board instead of a Staff Schedule Board. A room schedule board can only let you deselect the working hours. This board is used to track the off or rest hours of your employees. Once you gain a One-star rating, you can build a Staff Schedule Board, which will let you select individual working hours.
