Once you’ve triumphed and you move into a safe area, Cider will show up, giving you a knowing remark to acknowledge you’re there. This initial meeting is super important because it sets the stage for their eventual recruitment.
When you start your very next run, Cider is going to pop up right at the beginning, but they’ll vanish again super quickly. The real turning point for getting Cider comes when you head into the forest area, which you can find near the tough-as-nails Underking’s castle. This specific biome is where you’ll find the key to pulling Cider onto your playable roster. This is why it’s such a good multiplayer game too.
Once you make it to that forested region, you’re going to encounter Cider again, but this time, they’ll be in a situation where they need your direct assistance. You can start your journey to recruit this powerful wizard after you’ve managed to beat the first major boss, the Underking, and successfully made it into Absolum’s second huge region, which is called Jaroba. This is a big deal in your mission to steal back magic from the evil Sun King Azra, and it opens up new spots and chances to get more characters.
Once you first get into Jaroba, the first path you have to take is pretty easy. You just need to keep going through a few areas, fighting off tons of enemies, and checking out the different biomes of Talamh. As you move on, you’ll eventually see a short but important cutscene. This moment will show a character who has been captured, which means you have a new goal to shoot for.
Right after that cutscene, your next job is to clear the room of every enemy. When the area is safe, you can free Vikhana the Joyful, who is sadly caught in some sort of plant. After you let her go, Vikhana will thank you and, most importantly, she’ll give you the task of saving Brome. To help you out, she’ll conveniently mark Brome’s exact location on your map, which saves you a lot of guessing.
With Brome’s spot clearly marked, your path forward is a breeze. Just follow the route she marked, continuing to move through the rest of the Jaroba areas.
