Water is the stuff of life and a crucial ingredient in various recipes in Tavern Keeper. Once you build a soup station, you won’t be able to operate without a steady supply of fresh water and salty brine. This guide outlines the steps for obtaining water and storing it.

How to Get Water in Tavern Keeper

First things first, you need a well on the premises to get water in Tavern Keeper. Follow these steps to get the water:

    1. Build a well outside your Tavern using the Build Menu.
    2. Purchase buckets and pallets for drawing and storing water.
    3. Open the Storage Overview Menu on the Top-right side of your screen.
    4. Add the water to the Requested List.
    5. You can find an option for water at the bottom of this list.
    6. Set the required quantity.
    7. Mark the water as High Priority so it will get refilled as soon as it’s finished.
    8. Assign a Chef to your worker schedule.
    9. Once assigned, the Chef will fetch the water from the well and store it in your Storeroom whenever it’s needed.

    FAQs

How to get salty brine water in Tavern Keeper?

Salty Brine, like water, can be obtained from a well. In the Gugamush Tavern, simply build a well outside your establishment and follow the steps detailed above to get salty brine water.

Why can’t I use the water in my storeroom for recipes?

If you already have the required amount of water in your storeroom (i.e., if you can see a water bucket on a pallet in your storeroom) and still can’t use it, it might be a bug. You can press F3 to report this bug to the developer through the feedback.

Which of my employees can draw water from the well?

Since water is needed to prepare various recipes in Tavern Keeper, only an employee assigned as Chef will be able to draw water from the well. Once you assign a Chef to the worker schedule and add water to the Requested List, the Chef will draw the water as needed and keep the storeroom stacked with the required amount at all times.

Can I use stored water to put out fires?

No. Fires in Tavern Keeper can only be put out using Fire Extinguishers. We recommend stocking up on fire extinguishers as well as extinguishing barrels just in case a fire breaks out.
