    Summary

    • If you are looking to remove the Blackstar Dragon cooldown in Crimson Desert, you should stock up on Narima’s Horn.
    • This item removes the 50-minute cooldown before you can summon the mount again.
    • However, it is locked behind a high-level area and has a low chance of being obtained from missions.

Upon the launch of Crimson Desert, the Blackstar Dragon cooldown was a point of interest in the community. Some players were not a fan of this cooldown, going as far as creating whole mods to get rid of this mechanic. However, we have now discovered that this was not needed, as there is an in-game item that can do this for you.

You will need to use Narima’s Horn to remove the dragon mount cooldown completely. You can use this item from your inventory, and it will reset the cooldown, making Blackstar available for use again.

The description for the item reads:

A horn crafted using a dragon’s fang. Its distinct sound is said to allow communication with a dragon. Immediately readies Blackstar for summoning.

This is an extremely hard item to get, due to its random drop rate. Its recipe cannot be found in Pywel through exploration. Instead, you must rely on your Greymane Camp comrades to find this for you.

The location you will want to choose in particular is the Timeworn Ruins in the Crimson Desert region. Firstly, you have to liberate this area, which is quite tough since it has a lot of enemies and is also fiercely guarded by a boss, Merrick, the Knight of Fortune.

Note: The boss does leave once you deplete around a third of its health.

After this is done, you can view the location on the map or access it from the Greymane Camp missions page. Here, you can start the Timeworn Ruins Excavation mission. It has a random chance of netting you the recipe for Narima’s Horn.

However, this mission is quite expensive. It costs the following resources:

    • 11,000 Armor
    • 17,000 Stone
    • 17,000 Timber
    • 24,000 Food
    • 30,000 coins

This mission takes three in-game days to complete. So, this not only takes a lot of resources, but time as well. Thus, you will want to start it once and wait until you approach the final 12 hours of the mission.

As soon as the timer reaches 12 hours, save the game. This will now become your refresh point. Go to your bed (or any bed for that matter), and sleep for 12 hours. This advances the clock, allowing you to instantly check the mission rewards.

If you got the recipe for Narima’s Horn, you are done. If not, load back the save and go to sleep again. Repeat this process until you get the recipe.

Here is the crafting recipe for this item:

    • 3x Dragon Claw Horn
    • 1x Stalactite
    • 2x Feather

You can approach any of the Witches of Pywel and get them to craft this item for you (provided you have the materials, of course).

    FAQs

How to get Dragon Claw Horn?

The Tinkerton Dig Site in Delesyia will have the mission needed for this item. You have to embark on the Dragon Claw Horn Production mission, which will net you Dragon Claw Horns once the mission ends.

Does Narima’s Horn get used upon resetting the Blackstar Dragon cooldown?

Yes, the item does not last forever. Once you use it, the item disappears. Therefore, you must keep crafting it again and again, using the materials mentioned above.
