But this also brings the added curiosity of players who are always eager to learn which characters could arrive next. In this guide, we will cover confirmed additions, credible rumors, and community favorite characters that could join the game, updated till June 2026.

Marvel Rivals has promised players two new heroes each season, and below are the most recent additions to the game:

White Fox
White Fox has the power to summon the ancestral Nine-Tailed to heal herself and her allies, along with fortification abilities. With this skill set, she joins the Marvel Rival roster as a strategist, providing support to her teammates.
That said, after spending some time with her, I don’t think she’s among the strongest Strategists in the current meta. While her healing output is respectable, I usually find myself getting more value from characters like Invisible Woman, Rocket Raccoon, or Cloak & Dagger. They offer stronger utility and can have a bigger impact during team fights. Because of that, I see White Fox more as a situational pick (especially in Cosmic Selection matches where some of the top Strategists are banned).
Black Cat
Black Cat arrived alongside White Fox in Season 7 after being teased earlier in Season 6 promotional artwork alongside Deadpool. As one of Spider-Man’s most recognizable anti-heroes, I was excited to see how she’d fit into the game.
Unfortunately, she hasn’t really clicked with the player base. Her kit, which includes abilities like Calling Card, Cat’s Cradle, Turn of Fortune, and Malkin Misfortune, feels a bit underwhelming compared to other Duelists. Since much of her gameplay revolves around close-range combat, I often find myself preferring characters like The Punisher, Mister Fantastic, or Iron Fist when I need consistent damage output. Black Cat can still be fun to play, but right now she feels more like a niche pick than a meta-defining Duelist.
Devil Dinosaur
When Devil Dinosaur arrived in Season 8, I honestly expected him to be popular like Jeff the Land Shark, but I didn’t expect him to become such a dominant Vanguard so quickly. From my experience, he’s one of the strongest frontline characters in the game right now.
What makes him so effective is how much value he gets from his entire kit. His attacks, including Primal Bite and Buddy Barrier, can apply bleed and slow effects, respectively, on opponents. On top of that, Prehistoric Plating helps him ignore displacement effects, while Apex Advantage lets him heal whenever enemies are suffering from his bleed attacks. The combination of crowd control and self-sustainability feels incredibly strong, which is why I regularly see him either picked immediately or banned outright in Cosmic Selection.
Characters Rumored to Join Marvel Rivals Next
While we cannot say for certain that the following characters will be joining anytime soon, datamines and leakers suggest they have the highest chance of joining:
The Hood and Jubilee
According to known Marvel Rivals dataminer X0X_LEAK, both The Hood and Jubilee will be the characters launching in Season 9. They claim that both characters’ data have been added to the game files, and they will be announced with the Season 9 trailer.
Reportedly, The Hood will be a Vanguard possessing skillsets similar to Winter Soldier and The Punisher. On the other hand, Jubilee will be a Strategist having similar skillsets to Emma Frost and Jean Grey.
Ant-Man and The Wasp
When Marvel Rivals launched the Pym Test Kitchen event back in December 2025, rumors of Ant-Man and The Wasp joining the roster also began. Unfortunately, there have been no leaks or datamined information for the two characters. But with Pym Particles already making an appearance in-game, players believe these two characters can join the roster any time soon.
Professor X and Doctor Doom
As has been the case before, Marvel Rivals often introduced characters tied to the MCU releases. With the Avengers: Doomsday release date coinciding with Season 10/11 of the game, there are multiple rumors from dataminer X0X_LEAK surrounding the entry of Doctor Doom and Professor X.
Fantastic Four and a few X-Men are already on the roster, which makes it a perfect setup to introduce these two iconic characters in-game. Reportedly, Professor X’s abilities include X-Men connection, Potential Stimulation, and Mind Projection. As for Doctor Doom, he is rumored to have team-up abilities with the Fantastic Four.
Nightcrawler and Colossus
With Cyclops already on the roster, rumors on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours are pointing to the game having an X-Men-themed season, featuring two popular X-Men: Nightcrawler and Colossus. Nightcrawler is rumored to be a Strategist, while Colossus can turn out to be a Vanguard. Unfortunately, there are no further details about them apart from their inclusion in an X-Men-themed season.
Captain Marvel
Captain Marvel has reportedly been discovered in the game’s files through datamined voice lines and hints. In one of the leaked interactions, Captain America is heard saying, “Not too shabby, Danvers,” which many players believe is a direct reference to Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel.
Fans have also linked Captain Marvel to the mysterious character featured on the Season 7 Gallery Card. At this stage, however, no details about her potential abilities or gameplay skins have surfaced.
Other Marvel Characters Fans Want in the Game
Marvel boasts a staggering count of 80,000 official characters cataloged. Even if they eventually increase the release schedule from two characters per season to four or five, I still don’t think they’ll run out of exciting additions anytime soon.
However, that also means every player has their own wishlist. Personally, there are a few characters I’d love to see join the roster sooner rather than later:

- Silver Surfer
- Sandman
I see these names come up constantly in community discussions, and it’s easy to understand why. Each of them could bring completely unique abilities and playstyles that aren’t currently represented in the game.
At the moment, though, none of these characters has been officially confirmed or even rumored to be in development. Looking ahead, the next confirmed addition is Cyclops, who is scheduled to release on June 12, 2026.
