Pokémon Pokopia: How To Get Electricity

By Pranshu AryanMarch 11, 20263 Mins Read

    Summary

    • Several devices need electricity to run in Pokémon Pokopia.
    • You can make machines run using Electric-type Pokémon or through generators.
    • Utility Poles or Wireless Transmitters are used to easily transfer power.

Pokémon Pokopia is set in a dystopian future where humans are absent. So, it is up to Ditto to figure out how to generate electricity and transfer it around the city to various devices. Fortunately, there are some ways to go about doing so. This guide will show you how to make your own electricity, or even transfer it from existing sources.

How To Get Electricity in Pokémon Pokopia

There are multiple ways to generate Electricity in Pokopia. These include:

Mini-Generator: You only need one Pokémetal to craft this device, which can then be used to transmit electricity over a long range without any utility poles to disturb the environment and scenery. However, this is obtained later in the game, after you find Porygon. I will explain how to get this, alongside another item, further below.

Waterwheels and Windmills: These are both real-life energy sources that can be used to generate electricity in Pokémon Pokopia as well. However, you will need to position them correctly to ensure that water and wind can reach them.

Generate Specialty: Although this is an easy method to get power, it is also short-lived. So, I placed it as a last resort, when you do not have other options available to you. All Pokémon in the game have a Specialty, which indicates what they can be used for. Electric-type Pokémon generally have the Generate Specialty. Some common Pokémon I found with this Specialty are:

    • Pichu
    • Pawmi
    • Mareep
    • Peakychu (story unlock)

There are just two ways to conveniently move Electricity. These are:

Utility Poles: These are the more accessible tools, which are available as soon as you reach Bleak Beach. However, I also found them to be a little lacking in two ways:

    • Interfering with other structures around the city.
    • Just looking out of place and ruining the aesthetic of the town.

Wireless Transmitter: This is undoubtedly a better way to transfer electricity in the game. However, I mentioned it second due to a simple reason – Wireless Transmitters are harder to get and make.

You can get the above-mentioned Mini-Generators and Wireless Transmitter recipes together once you make your way to the Sparkling Skylands. Here, place two desks, a computer, and a science experiment together. These will form Porygon’s Habitat, Researcher’s Desk. Complete its request, and you will get the crafting recipes for both items.

    FAQs

Do all Electric-type Pokémon have the Generate Specialty?

Many Electric-type Pokémon have the Generate Specialty; however, there are some exceptions, like Pikachu, who has Illuminate instead.

When do you unlock the electricity mechanics in Pokémon Pokopia?

The first time these utility poles and generators will come into play will be after you reach Bleak Beach. Once you start the Brighten Things Up! Request, there will be tons of Utility Poles that need to be placed around the town.

How to light up Bleak Beach?

Place street lights all over the town and start them up. Moreover, you will have to complete certain Pokémon’s requests to further increase the brightness of the town. You are advised to have lots of Utility Poles for completing this.
