    Summary

    • Although Far Far West is a relatively newer game, we have found some of the best mods you can use to enhance your experience.
    • Most of these are mods that provide quality of life (QOL) changes.
    • However, one of these will also need a dependency mod to function.

Far Far West is a new co-op shooter for one to four players. Although using the best mods can make the game even more enjoyable for you. Of course, using any of these mods is not a must, as the base game is enjoyable on its own. However, if you want to tailor some parts according to your personal preference, this guide is for you.

How To Download the Best Mods for Far Far West

You can use third-party websites and platforms to download mods for this game. Alternatively, the Steam Workshop has a plethora of mods available for most games. However, as of this moment, the Steam Workshop does not have any mods available for this game. You can check back in the future for an update to this.

If you download the mods from another platform, you will have to manually place them inside the game files (generally within a ‘~mods’ folder).

The best mods for Far Far West are:

    • Save Editor
    • No More Snake Bites
    • DPS Meter
    • UE4SS for Far Far West
    • Weapon and Spell Requirement Level 1

    Save Editor

Although this is more of a third-party engine than a strict ‘mod,’ it still works like one. True to its name, this mod allows you to drag and drop your save file into this engine, letting you have free rein over your save.

You can then change and manipulate various values within these files. It includes:

    • Your inventory
    • Item level and XP
    • Stats and challenge counter
    • Item upgrades

Note: Do make a manual copy of your save file as a backup. This is going to be a good choice in case the mod fails to work properly or conflicts with a newer version of the game’s saves.

    No More Snake Bites

If you are annoyed by the numerous snakes roaming the world, this mod is perfect for you. The QTEs (quick-time events) that you have to perform to prevent snake bites can become repetitive. Alternatively, if you are simply reacting too slowly to avoid it, you should consider this mod.

It sets one of the internal values that determines when a snake bite occurs to ‘Ignore,’ letting you avoid all future snake bites. It needs to be placed in the ~mods folder, and the process of deleting is also as simple as getting rid of the folder or the specific file from the folder.

    DPS Meter

If you want to track your damage, then this mod is definitely the one to use. It is simple, easy to use, and only requires one other dependency mod, which will be discussed further below.

This DPS meter (Damage per second) appears automatically within gameplay sections and disappears during cutscenes, making it quite seamless. It hooks directly into the game’s damage number system, so that every hit that produces a number is counted accurately.

You can easily toggle this display by simply pressing F7.

Note: This mod needs the UE4SS mod mentioned below to work properly.

    UE4SS for Far Far West

This is not a gameplay or a content mod, but a scripting system that enables various other mods. This is a plugin for UE4 that allows you to inspect the game’s data. However, the regular stock version of UE4SS does not work for this game, due to which a need arises for a customized build.

This is also a dependency mod that is needed for the aforementioned DPS Meter mod.

Weapon and Spell Requirement Level 1

Picking up and experimenting with every weapon and spell can get tempting very quickly. However, many of these are locked behind higher levels, which are achieved only after playing for a significant period.

So, this mod will remove these level requirements, letting you use all the weapons and spells at level one.
