- The only clue we have to solve the password is the apartment building across from our spot.
- The password stays the same for all runs; it doesn’t have any RNG mechanics attached to it.
- The trick here is to count the codes horizontally instead of vertically.

Steps to finishing the Elevator Puzzle in Escape the Backrooms

You will get to this puzzle at the end of Level 0.11 after pulling four levers to open up a shutter. Your path will be blocked by a locked elevator that requires the correct password.
- For an easy answer, just type in ‘4-1-3-5-1-4′ to open the door. Again, the code here stays the same all the time; on your next run, you just have to type the same code again to open it.
The answer to the puzzle lies in the apartment rooms across from your spot. The entire building is filled with rooms, but only some rooms have lights coming out of them, and others are closed.
You just need to consider the rooms with the lights and count them in a specific order to get the code. Don’t count them in the row order; the password can only be obtained in the column perspective.

If you take the top-to-bottom order and column style, the fourth window in the first column at the top will be our starting line. Since the fourth window is open, that will count as 4, then the next column, here we have the first window open, so 1, which will eventually lead to the code 4-1-5-3-1-4.
There is no failure involved in the password retries; you can retry as many times as possible without any problem or monster jumping out of the blue in Escape the Backrooms.
