    Summary

    • The Red Needle Ancient Katana is an excellent weapon to get in Crimson Desert.
    • It boosts your critical rate, which is really valuable during boss fights and general encounters too.
    • You do not need any other skills or story progression to unlock this weapon.

Out of all the weapons in Crimson Desert, the Red Needle Ancient Katana is a standout pick. It has the rare effect of boosting your critical rate, which is really effective against any enemy in the game. However, acquiring it will take you to a faraway region, so get on your horse and get ready for a long trip.

Unfortunately, you do need to go on a long trip to get to this weapon. It is found in Delesyia, which is quite far from Hernand, the starting region. Head east from Hernand to reach Demeniss, and go further east to reach Delesyia.

The exact location of the weapon is inside the Sanctum of Oblation. However, be careful, as the Antumbra Order will initially be blockading this area.

Head towards this sanctum from the Abyss Nexus fast travel point to the left. Proceed through the first gate you see, which will be guarded by some enemies. However, be careful, as you might attract the attention of nearby enemies as well.

From the entrance shown above, proceed inside and take the first turn left. A chest will be sitting right in front of you. Interact with this chest to get the Red Needle.

Note: You do not need to clear the Sanctum to get the weapon. However, that is the approach we took.

A sword forged from unknown material. Crafted with ancient skills now forgotten, this weapon is lighter than a standard sword. However, grappling its center of gravity is tricky, making it difficult to handle for anyone without mastery as a swordsman.

    • Attack: 19 (at refinement rank four)
    • Critical Rate: Level 2 (at refinement rank four)
    • Attack Speed Level 1 (at refinement rank four)

    FAQs

Why is the Red Needle Katana good in Crimson Desert?

This is a great weapon due to its secondary buffs, which increase your critical rate and attack speed. This is particularly effective on bosses.

What to do if the room with the Red Needle chest is locked?

If the room is locked initially, then do not worry. Go straight instead, and take the next left. Proceed down the stairs and light the lantern. This should unlock the door and let you grab the weapon.
