How To Collect Mercury in Crimson Desert

As you explore Pywel, you might have found some Mercury Pools. These seem to have no interactable feature. However, that is because it is not meant to be collected normally. You have to use an Ice attack on Mercury Pools to collect Mercury.
For this, you must first go to the Spire of Ringing Truths and complete the Abyss trials and challenges until you get to the Path of Trials.

Completing this challenge will unlock the Frost element. We would suggest unlocking the Elemental Charged Shot skill as well, since it is easier to use.
Fire the Frost Charged Shot into the Pool to obtain solid chunks of Mercury. Of course, this is not unlimited. As you continue applying Frost, the pool will slowly disappear.

Where To Find Mercury in Crimson Desert

As mentioned earlier, Mercury is found in various Mercury Pools throughout Pywel. One of the easier ones you can visit is in the Silver Wolf Mountains (location marked above).
You can dive down to this location from the Loop of Life Abyss Nexus, which makes the journey to get to this area quite easy. We got varying results on visiting this pool multiple times. However, you should generally get seven to eight pieces of Mercury from this pool.
You will find another Mercury Pool lying between Deadfire Mountain and Hexe Sanctuary, but that is noticeably tougher to get to.
What is Mercury used for in Crimson Desert?
It is primarily used to make expensive and powerful items like Platinum and Gold. The recipe for Platinum is:
- Gold Bar x1
- Mercury x3
- Brimstone x4
- Holy Water x2
Meanwhile, the recipe for a Gold Bar also includes Mercury:
- Brimstone x3
- Mercury x3
- Silver Ore x10
Platinum and Gold themselves can be sold for a lot of money, and are also used to make the Aeserion weapons, which are some of the strongest in the game.
