The Digimon Story Time Stranger Digifarm trains your monsters even while you focus on the main story. This globe-shaped area does more than store your digital friends. It’s a training hub that keeps working while you play elsewhere in the game.
You can place up to 30 Digimon in the Digifarm at once. Those monsters gain experience just like the ones sitting in your regular box. But the real payoff is the training options and the materials they collect on their own. Learning how to use this system properly saves hours of grinding. It also gets your Digimon ready for their next evolution faster.
How to Unlock the Digifarm

You unlock the Digifarm after beating the second boss, Raremon, in the main quest Reunions Bring Trouble. After this fight, the story moves forward. You then look for a strange spot in the back alleys of Kabukicho in Shinjuku. Find the door that leads to the In-Between Theater.
Yes. Any Digimon you place in the Digifarm picks up materials on their own while they stay there. Every time you enter the farm, a list appears on the right side of your screen. That list shows every material your Digimon found. These materials feed into crafting decorations and better training sets. You don’t have to do anything special. Just leave your Digimon in the farm and they’ll keep collecting stuff as time passes.
Do Digimon in the Farm Gather Materials?
Yes, any Digimon you put in the Digifarm will pick up materials on their own while they stay there. Every time you go into the farm, a list shows up on the right side of your screen with all the materials your Digimon found. These materials help you make decorations and training sets. You don’t have to do anything special to make this work. Just leave your Digimon in the farm and they’ll keep finding stuff as time goes by.
Do Placed Items Do Anything?
No. Items and ground tiles you place in the Digifarm are purely cosmetic. They don’t speed up training or improve material drops. You can decorate with up to 492 tiles and 250 items to build any environment you like. Forests, deserts, frozen tundras, one big ocean, all valid. Looks don’t help or hurt training results, so build whatever fits your style.
How to Train Digimon in the Digifarm in Time Stranger

You train Digimon by selecting them on the farm and choosing from different training sets. Each set targets one stat like HP, Attack, Defense, or Speed. Training also shifts your Digimon’s personality in different directions. This matters when you want them to hit specific evolution requirements.
Higher-level training sets give bigger stat gains but take longer to finish. The C-level sets give huge stat increases without changing personality at all. That makes them ideal when your Digimon already has the personality you want. It just needs bigger stats to meet evolution needs.
You can use training sets as many times as you want. But you need multiple copies to train more than one Digimon with the same set at once. When a Digimon finishes training, you get a message from Mirei Mikagura. You can respond to her message to keep training going without going back to the farm.
You unlock Zudomon’s smithy for crafting B and C sets during the main mission Incoming Conflict. Complete the side mission The Blacksmith’s Request to open it. You craft training sets there using materials from three sources: the wild, farm training drops, and the In-Between Theater’s bartender.
Training Set Levels at a Glance
| Set Level | Time to Complete | Personality Shift | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | 30 minutes | Yes | Early game and personality tuning |
| B | 60 minutes | Yes | Mid-game stat boosts with personality nudges |
| C | 90 minutes | No | Late game pure stat maximization |
The timer only runs while the game is actively playing. If you drop into rest mode, the training timer pauses. You can also spend Yen to Quick Complete any training instantly if you’re in a rush.
Speeding Up Training with Crash Course Skills
Four Crash Course Agent Skills cut training time in half. Each one covers a different personality group:
- Crash Course in Valor: for Valor personality Digimon
- Crash Course in Philanthropy: for Philanthropy personality Digimon
- Crash Course in Amicability: for Amicability personality Digimon
- Crash Course in Wisdom: for Wisdom personality Digimon
Grab all four as soon as you can. Half-time training across the board stacks up fast when you’re running 30 Digimon on rotating sessions.
Do You Need to Feed Digimon in the Digifarm

No, feeding isn’t required, but it really helps. When you feed Digimon in the farm, their Bond level rises. Higher Bond means more stats carry over when your Digimon evolves or de-digivolves back to a weaker form. That builds stronger monsters over time thanks to stat inheritance.
You can buy food at item shops across the map. Just remember, you can’t feed a Digimon while it’s training. Wait for the session to finish, or cancel it, before offering food. Bond also ticks up slowly through battles and Digiline conversations. Aim for 100% Bond before major Digivolutions to squeeze the most stat inheritance out of the evolution.
What to Do Next…
Unlock the Digifarm as soon as Reunions Bring Trouble wraps. Park bench members and future team picks in there from day one so they’re always earning EXP. Grab the four Crash Course Agent Skills as fast as the game lets you. Once Zudomon’s smithy opens after The Blacksmith’s Request, start stacking B and C training sets. Those lock in the stat gains you need for late-game Digivolutions.
When do I unlock the Digifarm in Time Stranger?
You unlock it after beating Raremon in the Reunions Bring Trouble main quest. From there, head to the Kabukicho back alley in Shinjuku and enter the In-Between Theater.
How many Digimon can I put in the Digifarm?
The Digifarm holds up to 30 Digimon at any given time. Each one earns EXP passively while parked there.
Do decorations affect training speed?
No. Tiles and items are cosmetic only. They won’t speed up training, boost stat gains, or change material drops.
Does the training timer run when my console is in rest mode?
No. The training timer moves only when the game is running. It stops the moment you drop the console into rest mode.
Can I train multiple Digimon with the same training set at the same time?
Not with one copy. You need one training set per Digimon if you want to run the same set on multiple monsters concurrently.
Where do I get better training sets?
You craft B and C training sets at Zudomon’s smithy in Central Town. The Blacksmith’s Request side mission during Incoming Conflict unlocks the smithy. Materials come from the wild, farm training drops, and the In-Between Theater’s bartender.
Do I have to check the farm constantly for training results?
No. Mirei Mikagura sends you a message when training finishes. You can reply to keep training going without visiting the farm each time.
