How to get Fuel in Wildgate

By RishiJuly 24, 20253 Mins Read

In Wildgate, Fuel is more than just an available resource; it is what keeps you alive. When your tank is out of fuel, you lose all momentum on your ship. This happens in the middle of a gunfight this means you are most likely dead.

The battles are chaotic and numerous, so understanding where to get fuel and how to refuel quickly can mean the difference between a free trip back home or drifting into the void of space. On that note, here is a quick guide.

Best Way To Get Fuel In Wildgate

The most dependable way to refuel is by mining the brown asteroids scattered across space. These rocks hold fuel deposits that can be extracted with your Multitool.

    To do it:

    • Get close to one of the brown asteroids.
    • Equip your Multitool and start the extraction process.

This method gives you the most fuel, but it isn’t risk-free. Mining takes time and leaves you open to attack, so clear nearby enemies first or wait for a quiet moment before starting.

    Collecting Fuel from Enemy Wrecks

If there’s no time to mine, destroyed enemy ships are your next option. After a fight, check their wreckage for small fuel drops. It won’t be as much as an asteroid, but it’s often enough to keep you moving until you find a proper source. Just be careful when scavenging mid-battle, take down nearby threats first so you aren’t ambushed while looting.

    Watch Out for Leeches

One threat that often catches players off guard is the Leech. These creatures attach themselves to your ship and drain fuel fast. If you spot one, deal with it immediately, as leaving it alone for even a short time can empty your tank. The good news is you can reclaim the fuel they’ve stolen once they’re gone.

    Keeping an Eye on Fuel

Many new players tend to only pay attention to health bar. In this game, fuel is crucial, as it allows you to use a Speed Boost once. Without it, you can’t dodge incoming fire, run away from foes, or even turn back and retreat to safety. Before venturing into a new sector, or stepping into a bind, take a second and check your levels; filling up beforehand usually prevents you from a mad scramble later on.

Stop at the Processero whenever you get a chance. This is where you can fully resupply — fuel for movement, ice to repair your reactor, and ammo for your weapons. Fuel and ice come from asteroid mining, while ammo is usually found in loot rooms. Making regular trips here ensures you’re never caught unprepared in the next fight.
