It is highly likely that when progressing through Chapter 3: Rendezvous in Valor Mortis, you will either stumble upon a Weathered Key, or upon a locked cabin that needs a Weathered Key to open. This item is tied to also completing The Lullaby quest, and it helps that you get a pretty good Amber as a reward for this.
In this guide, I have answered all three questions – the location of the Weathered Key, the place where to use it, and all details on the Lullaby side quest in Valor Mortis. So let’s get started!
Weathered Key Location in Valor Mortis
The Weathered Key is located in the house left of the Marketplace Lantern in the Fallen Village. It is also the exact same place that starts The Lullaby side quest. From the lantern, the path straight ahead will be blocked, while the one that winds to the left will lead to this house.
As soon as you enter, you will hear a child crying, and when you move into the other room, The Lullaby side quest will be unlocked and added to your quest log.
When you take the other exit, you will see two enemies facing the other side, and apparently looking over something. Take them out, and you will discover that the item they were guarding is the one that we were seeking – the Weathered Key.
Where To Use The Weathered Key in Valor Mortis
Now, from this location, make your way through the carriage that you got the Blunderbuss from. Proceed towards the open gate, but take a right just before that.
Take care of the enemies in this area, and proceed ahead. You will come out to a branching path, the left of which leads to a bridge with a gap that you can jump over.
On the other side, is a cabin, and that can only be opened with the Weathered Key.
Closing The Lullaby Quest
Once you open the cabin, you will get a Toy. Now, go back to the place where it all started, and place the Toy in the crib. This closes the Lullaby quest, and the Tomorrow’s Promise Amber.
With Tomorrow’s Promise Amber equipped, using the Ferrofluid Flask grants Health Regeneration over time.
