The Dave the Diver In the Jungle fish list adds an entirely new ecosystem of 82 species across Utara Lake, Lakebed Sea, and more locations. If you’re aiming to complete the Marinca Bloom collection or just want to know where each category of fish appears, this guide will save you countless dives.
Unlike the Blue Hole, Utara Lake gradually opens up as you progress through the story. I found that trying to collect everything in one go was almost impossible, so it’s much easier to treat the DLC as a gradual checklist rather than a speedrun.
This guide explains where every type of fish can be found, which creatures are tied to quests, and the fastest way to complete your Marinca Bloom collection.
How Fish Collection Works in Dave the Diver In the Jungle

The Dave the Diver In the Jungle fish list is divided into 82 collectible entries inside the Marinca Bloom app, which becomes available after meeting Sato in the village.
The collection is split into four categories:
- Utara Lake – Upper
- Utara Lake – Lower
- Fishing Rod Exclusive Fish
- Lakebed Sea
Unlike the base game, the DLC does not feature night fishing. You’ll spend your evenings working at Bancho’s Grill, leaving only daytime dives and fishing sessions to complete your collection.
As you progress through the story, Muna upgrades your purification filters, allowing Dave to dive deeper into Utara Lake before eventually unlocking the Lakebed Sea.
Utara Lake – Upper Fish Locations

| Archerfish | Lake 0–35m | Spearfishing (hostile) |

| Black Caiman | Lake 0–35m | Spearfishing (hostile) |
| Black Piranha | Lake 0–35m | Spearfishing (hostile) |
| Blue Discus | Lake 0–35m | Spearfishing |
| Blue Yabby | Lake 0–35m | Crab Trap |
| Blue-Gray Mbuna | Lake 0–35m | Spearfishing |

| Green Discus | Lake 0–35m | Spearfishing |
| Heckel Discus | Lake 0–35m | Spearfishing |
| Kissing Gourami | Lake 0–35m | Spearfishing |
| Malaysian Pikehead | Lake – Vegetation Cave | Spearfishing |
| Pearl Gourami | Lake 0–35m | Spearfishing |

| Red Swamp Crayfish | Lake 0–35m | Crab Trap |
| Red-Bellied Piranha | Lake 0–35m | Spearfishing (hostile) |

| Tilapia | Lake 0–35m | Spearfishing |
| Tricolor | Lake 0–35m | Crab Trap |
| Walking Catfish | Lake 0–35m | Spearfishing (hostile) |
The upper section of Utara Lake covers depths between 0 and 35 meters and is where you’ll catch the majority of the DLC’s early-game fish. Most common species appear naturally while exploring this region.

However, several notable creatures require additional progression:
- Blue Yabby, Red Swamp Crayfish, and Tricolor can only be hunted with a Crab Trap.
- Archerfish, Banana Cichlid, Blue-Gray Mbuna, and Clown Loach can only be hunted after the lake is purified.
- Black Caiman is a hostile giant fish which is tied to Bonita’s quest.
- Pirarucu is another hostile giant fish that requires you to find a machete to open a path to it.
- Sulong is also a hostile giant fish that ends as Operation: Sulong Hunt’s boss fight.
- Malaysian Pikehead only appears in Vegetation Cave after you have defeated Sulong.
If your goal is efficiency, I recommend collecting all standard fish first before returning later for quest-related creatures.
Utara Lake – Lower Fish Locations
| Fish | Location | How to Catch |
|---|---|---|
| Armored Catfish | Lake 35–75m | Spearfishing |
| Asian Arowana | Lake 35–75m | Spearfishing |
| Clown Featherback | Lake – Springwater Area | Spearfishing (hostile) |
| Electric Eel | Lake 35–75m | Spearfishing (hostile) |
| Fire Eel | Lake – Sunang Ruins | Spearfishing (hostile) |
| Giant Freshwater Stingray | Lake 35–75m | Spearfishing (hostile) |
| Giant Snakehead | Lake 35–75m | Spearfishing (hostile) |
| Giant Snapping Turtle | Lake – Sunang Ruins | Spearfishing (hostile) (boss fight) |
| Giant Sturgeon | Lake 35–75m | Spearfishing (hostile) |

| Horseface Loach | Lake 35–75m | Spearfishing |
| Indonesian Tiger Perch | Lake 35–75m | Spearfishing |
| Largemouth Bass | Lake 35–75m | Spearfishing |
| Marron | Lake 35–75m | Crab Trap |

| Nile Perch | Lake 35–75m | Spearfishing |

| Platinum Alligator Gar | Lake 35–75m | Spearfishing (hostile) |
| Signal Crayfish | Lake 35–75m | Crab Trap |
| Sockeye Salmon | Lake 35–75m | Spearfishing |
After upgrading Dave’s purification filter (you need to bring Muna 3x Dinosaur Bone Fragments and 70 Doni), you’ll gain access to the 35–75 meter section of Utara Lake. This area introduces much larger and more aggressive wildlife. Many will attack Dave on sight. Similar to fish found above 35m, some creatures require additional progression:
- Asian Arowana, Clown Featherback, Giant Freshwater Stingray, Platinum Alligator Gar, and Sockeye Salmon can only be hunted after the lake is purified.
- Marron, Murray Spiny Crayfish, and Signal Crayfish need a Crab Trap to catch.
- Giant Snapping Turtle is your boss fight in this region for the A Monster Snapping Turtle quest given by Sato.
- Fire Eel only appears in Sunang Ruins Lake after you have defeated Giant Snapping Turtle.
Do be careful in this region as multiple fish turn out to be hostile once you get close to them.
Fishing Rod Exclusive Fish

Not every fish is caught underwater. Eventually, you’ll unlock the Fishing Rod, allowing Dave to fish from Surga Falls and Setah Forest. These species receive their own category in Marinca Bloom and won’t count unless caught with the rod.
Surga Falls
You can catch:
- Moonlight Gourami
- Three Spot Gourami
- Snakeskin Gourami
- Malayan Leaf Fish
Setah Forest
This region contains:
- Giant Gourami
- Emperor Snakehead
- Striped Snakehead
- Peacock Bass
- Tambaqui
- Malayan Mahseer
- Redtail Catfish
- Tapah
Before leaving any fishing spot in the Setah Forest, use the in-game fish preview button to check whether you’ve already caught every available species there.

| Tuzoia | Sea Beneath the Lake (below 75m) | Crab Trap |
| Xiphactinus | Sea Beneath the Lake (below 75m) | Spearfishing (hostile) (boss fight) |
The Lakebed Sea becomes available later in the story after Muna crafts Dave’s new diving suit (ancient equipment and suit from the Temple in Chapter 3), which allows him to dive lower than 75m. The biome is called Sea Beneath the Lake and introduces prehistoric creatures and some of the DLC’s toughest encounters.

Some collectible creatures also require special capture methods rather than ordinary spearfishing. Such as:
- Ciurcopterus, Tumidocarcinus giganteus, and Tuzoia can only be caught using a Crab Trap.
- Red Sea Lily (which floats by the seabed) needs a net to catch, while Trilobite and Tullimonstrum need a Net Gun to catch.
- Xiphactinus and Stethacanthus are your boss fights in this region, which require you to complete story quests to unlock them.
- Basilosaurus can be harvested only after Xiphactinus is defeated.
Because of these varied requirements, bringing multiple tools during each dive is much more efficient than relying solely on your harpoon.
Tips for Completing the Marinca Bloom Collection Faster
Completing the Dave the Diver In the Jungle fish list is much easier if you avoid treating every dive as a hunting trip. Most fish you collect also unlock Bancho Grill recipes automatically, so every catch serves double duty.
- Progress the story first before worrying about completion.
- Upgrade your purification filters as early as possible.
- Always place Crab Traps whenever you see bubbling rocks.
- Carry a Net Gun alongside your main weapon.
- Return after purification events since several fish only spawn afterward.
- Revisit boss arenas because certain creatures only appear after those encounters are completed.
- Check your Marinca Bloom entries after every dive so you know which region still has missing species.
Doing this minimizes unnecessary backtracking later in the DLC.
How to collect Marinca Bloom Completion Reward
Completing every Marinca Bloom entry rewards your dedication with a special roof decoration for Dave’s hut.
Once every fish has been collected and the flower inside Marinca Bloom has fully grown, Sato will contact Dave and send the cosmetic reward. You can equip it by opening the decoration menu inside Dave’s house and selecting the Roof Decoration slot.
While it doesn’t provide gameplay benefits, it’s a satisfying reward that showcases you’ve fully completed one of the DLC’s biggest challenges.
What tools do you need to complete the Marinca Bloom collection?
Beyond a standard harpoon, you’ll need a Crab Trap, Net Gun, and Fishing Rod to catch every species. Some creatures also require story progression before they appear.
How many fish are in Dave the Diver: In the Jungle DLC?
There are 82 fish and aquatic creatures to collect in the Marinca Bloom app.
Can you catch every fish immediately?

Are there Fishing Rod exclusive fish?
Yes. Twelve fish can only be caught using the Fishing Rod at Surga Falls and Setah Forest.
What do you get for completing Marinca Bloom?
Completing the collection rewards you with a special roof decoration for Dave’s hut after Sato contacts you.
