    Summary

    • You can now tame the Legendary Phoenix pet in Crimson Desert.
    • You have to slay the Phoenix first to get a Phoenix Feather.
    • A Witch can then turn this Feather into a Sigil of Solidarity.

A new Legendary Phoenix pet has been added to Crimson Desert in its latest update (Version 1.04.00). You can tame it just like other Legendary Creatures, such as the Rock Tusk Warthog and the White Bear, by defeating it. However, first, you must know where to find this Legendary beast.

Where is the Legendary Phoenix in Crimson Desert

You can find this bird in the Trader’s Expanse area, which is specifically close to the Varnian Territory. If you use Leebur’s Soul (an item obtained by defeating the Legendary Black Fang), its location will be marked on your map.

However, even if it has not been marked, you can go to the above-shown position to find the Phoenix circling the area. Unfortunately, it does tend to spawn and circle in random patterns. Therefore, your best bet is to save at a nearby Abyss Nexus and keep reloading the area to check if the bird is close by.

Once you have located the Legendary Phoenix, your next step is to kill it. This is the challenging part, as it requires some specific skills and arrows to make your life easier.

Ideally, you should unlock the following skills to make it easier to defeat this bird:

    • Marksmanship Lv. 5
    • Focused Shot Lv. 3
    • Charged Shot

These three skills combined can let you deal the most damage with your arrows, while letting you slow down time and fire a barrage of arrows at the Phoenix.

    Focused Shot

However, if your bow is not strong enough, or you seem to miss some arrows, you should consider the following extra tips to help your hunt:

    • Explosive arrows deal more damage.
    • Consider switching to the Frost element on your Charged Shot, as it can freeze the Phoenix, allowing you to further deal damage.

Once you shoot it down, find its body and skin it. This will give you a Phoenix Feather, which is a key item needed to get this pet.

Head to any of the Witches of Pywel. Talk to them, and select the ‘Craft Abyss Gear’ option. Scroll to the last tab, which is ‘Special Items.’

Here, you will see a Sigil of Solidarity for the Phoenix. Craft this item using the newly acquired Phoenix Feather. Check your inventory and use this new Sigil to register the Phoenix as a pet.

    FAQs

What to do if the Phoenix is not spawning in the Trader’s Expanse?

There is a random chance of the Phoenix roaming particular areas. If it does not spawn for you, consider saving and reloading the area.

Getting up to a high vantage point is also good for spotting this beast, as it is accompanied by a flock of birds as well.

Does the Phoenix pet pick up items?

Yes, it acts as any other pet and does pick up items. It even lands on your arm if you stand still long enough as an idle animation.

Can you use the Sodtae of Bonds to tame the Legendary Phoenix?

No, you must defeat this beast in battle and skin it afterwards. The Sodtae only works on regular birds in raising their trust.
