Where To Start the Pine Broom Hunting Challenge in Crimson Desert

To start this challenge, you should head down to the Thornbriar Mountains in Demeniss. To be more specific, head to the Thornbriar Guard Post in the area (shown above), and head south following the path.
You will find the Sealed Abyss Artifact lying right next to the road. Pick this up to start the Pine Broom challenge.

Things To Know Before You Try To Defeat a Bear With a Broom in Crimson Desert

Firstly, make sure that you do not have Abyss Gears equipped that deal damage if you dodge or perform normal attacks. A good example of this is the one you get from defeating the Reed Devil.
If the bear takes damage from anything apart from the broom, the challenge is invalidated. This counts fall damage, unarmed damage, and more.
Lastly, you will need a broom before you can actually attempt this challenge. Fortunately, this is easily acquired by going to the Provisioner’s Shop in Hernand. He will be selling two brooms for 58 bronze each.

How To Complete the Pine Broom Hunting Challenge in Crimson Desert

If you defeated a bear with a broom, but did not get the completion message, there might be some things you are doing wrong.
- Do not struggle if the bear catches you. Succeeding the quicktime event prompts will lead you to kick the bear away. This seems to count as dealing damage without your broom.
- If you get caught, do not panic. Simply wait and watch your health. If you get too low on it, eat a meal and replenish.
- The pattern to hit the bear is quite easy. As it gets close, dodge roll out of the way, and then use some normal attacks two to three times. If you want to play it safe, stick to two hits at a time.
- Keep chipping away at its health and do not give up midway. You will know your attacks are working as the bear will get stunned briefly and allow you to climb on top. However, do not climb up, as your objective is to kill it instead.
- Similarly, do not use the B+Y / Circle + Triangle combination to get on a bear’s back and stab it. This will also invalidate the challenge.
- Any form of damage that does not come from the broom itself will fail the run. These include Force Palms, Turning Slashes, and more.
