Crimson Desert has a number of wild resources that can be obtained by exploring Pywel. One of these is Wild Ginseng. However, this resource is not easy to obtain. Not only is it rare, but not many merchants sell this precious commodity.
Crimson Desert Wild Ginseng Locations
We have found two spots that contain Wild Ginseng. Out of these, the one in Pailune is easier to reach, since it lies right below the Abyss Nexus you can teleport to.
Here, jump down towards the eastern side, and turn back and look towards the wall. You will see a cave entrance where you’ll find three Wild Ginseng. This number likely varies from time to time.
Apart from this, the Deepwoods of the Grace Estate area also have some Wild Ginseng. Head to the Steel Mountains area, and go north from the Spire in this location to reach this area. This will also be the location that the game will direct you to if you attempt the Wild Ginseng Research at Pororin.
One last place where we could spot Wild Ginseng is in the Silver Wolf Mountains. Jump down from the above Abyss Nexus and run north-west. Watch out for the occasional bear in the way, and you will eventually hit the mountain range. At the base of this mountain, you can spot some Wild Ginseng growing near a tree.
What Does Wild Ginseng Do in Crimson Desert (In-Game Stats and Description)
This Alchemy Material is extremely useful. Eating it normally will give you the following effects:
- Defence +6.0 (1 min)
- No Spirit Cost (4 sec)
Comes in various shapes and sizes with increasing value over time. Embraces the spirit of the forest within its roots. Often found in mountains, except for Crimson Desert.
However, that is not its best use. In fact, you will want to hold off on using this item normally.
What Can Wild Ginseng Be Used For in Crimson Desert?
There are two primary reasons to save some Wild Ginseng. Chief among these are the Refined Palmar Pills. This is a rare item that can bring you back from death with full health. The recipe for this item is:
- 1x Ginseng Leaf
- 1x Palmar Leaf
- 1x Palmar Beetle
- 1x Water
Apart from these, you will also need a Wild Ginseng to complete the respective Research project in Pororin Forest. This research task takes 22 hours, but it gives you the benefit of increasing your maximum Spirit limit.

Yes, you can buy this material, but not at any normal vendor. The unique wandering vendor NPC who can be encountered randomly can be found selling this item. However, this is not a reliable method of obtaining this plant.

Can you farm Wild Ginseng using seeds?
Yes, you can check this item in your inventory to get the prompt to eat the plant or obtain its seeds. If you eat it, you get its aforementioned effects applied to you. However, if you choose to obtain the seeds, you can go back to the Greymane Camp and plant them at the farm.
Spray some water over the area and leave it to grow. If you come back after some time, the plant should have fully matured into a new Wild Ginseng of its own.
