How To Unlock Fast Travel Points in Skate

By Aaryan AdityaSeptember 17, 20255 Mins Read

Fast travel is one of the most helpful features in Skate, especially when you want to move across large areas without skating the entire way. The game’s world, San Vansterdam, is divided into different districts and neighborhoods, each packed with missions, challenges, and collectibles.

Unlocking fast travel points makes navigating this world much easier. However, getting there requires meeting certain progression goals and using the right in-game systems.

Fast travel points are scattered across San Vansterdam, but they are not available right from the start. Each district, such as Hedgemont, Gullcrest Village, and Market Mile, has its own neighborhood score that you need to progress.

As your score increases in these areas, new fast travel points will unlock and appear on your map. Once you see them, make sure to activate them as soon as possible to make traveling easier.

The Rip Score system plays a big part in this. Every player has a main Rip Score that reflects overall progression, while neighborhood scores track your activity in specific areas. Completing challenges raises these scores and, in turn, unlocks new fast travel points. You’ll also earn Rip Chips along the way.

You can spend Rip Chips in the shop to unlock product boxes containing cosmetics for your skater. With other games in the sports genre like Forza Horizon 6 providing authentic new settings, Skate delivers its own unique experience by combining open-world freedom with skateboarding culture.

Alternate Method: Level Up the Extravert Shop

Another way to unlock fast travel points is through the Extravert shop. This shop, introduced during the tutorial, gives you access to collectibles and loot packs.

Every time you level up here, you gain rewards, which can sometimes include fast travel tokens. These tokens are essential because they allow you to activate the points you’ve discovered on the map.

Keep in mind that tokens usually need to be used in the same area where you earned them. Because of this, it’s best to plan where you want to spend them.

If two points are close together, you may want to hold onto a token and use it later in a more useful spot. This ensures you don’t waste progress on redundant locations.

How to use Fast Travel Points

Once unlocked, fast travel points become active spots you can instantly teleport to on the map. Instead of skating across long distances, you can warp with a single button press. This is particularly useful when moving between major districts like Hedgemont and Market Mile.

You can also take advantage of the social features to teleport. By pressing left on the D-pad, you can view other players in your session.

From there, you can spectate and then teleport directly to their location. This feature is handy if you see players skating in interesting spots, such as rooftops or hidden areas, and want to join them quickly.

    Progress Through Tours and Challenges

Missions and challenges are another way to boost your neighborhood scores and unlock travel points faster. Tours, marked by purple flags, serve as structured missions narrated by characters like Shingo, Slappy, and Izzy.

Completing these Tours helps you to raise your score. But at times, you’ll also need to complete additional ambient challenges before progressing further.

If you run out of narrated Tours, check the Missions tab in the pause menu. It shows how many goals you need to complete before unlocking the next set of Tours.

Daily refreshes also help, as you can replay challenges for new goals. Playing in co-op can make this even easier since every challenge started as a team opens up an additional goal.

Tips for Unlocking Fast Travel Faster

If you want to speed up unlocking fast travel points, focus on raising your Rip Score consistently. Complete daily challenges, participate in co-op sessions for bonus goals, and keep progressing through Tours. At the same time, don’t forget to level up your Extravert shop to earn extra tokens for activating new points.

Balancing both neighborhood progression and shop leveling ensures that you unlock fast travel options across San Vansterdam efficiently. With these points active, you can spend more time skating in new areas instead of backtracking across the city.

By combining challenges, Tours, and shop rewards, you’ll gradually gain access to all available fast travel points in Skate. With these unlocked, exploring San Vansterdam becomes much smoother, letting you focus on mastering tricks, scoring higher, and enjoying the game’s world to its fullest.

With its open streets, creative tricks, and social skating sessions, the game captures the spirit of hanging out with friends at a skatepark, making Skate one of those games that can make you relive some of your summer memories.
