How to Free the Engines in Altheia: The Wrath of Aferi

By Santosh PandaAugust 21, 20254 Mins Read

Lili will get a request from the blacksmith to free the Mines in Altheia: The Wrath of Aferi. Once you get to the mines, you must reactivate three automatons to free the engines in the mines. Predictably, this is not the easiest task and has a couple of puzzles to solve before you can go ahead and do that.

Freeing Up The Engines In Althiea: The Wrath Of Aferi

The engines in the mines need three automatons activated. After you activate the first automaton near the entrance of the mines, you must venture deeper into the mines to activate the other two.

The mission also serves as a story progression quest that hands you a pretty useful bow that you will be using to solve puzzles here and later in the game, like the Tree of Life puzzle.

    Activate the First Automaton

The very first automaton shows up at the entrance to the mines. Compared to the last two, this one is far easier to reactivate. This automaton will be covered with dark corruption. Upon entering, you will see the first corruption weakspot on the left, and the second one is located on the other side of the automaton.

You must break the weak spot on both sides of the automaton and then use the lever on the left to create a platform for the automaton. Walk on the platform, interact with the corruption attached ot the automaton to free the fish inside. This will also unlock the locked door on the left of the doorway.

    Activate the Second Automaton

Unlocking the first automaton requires the Dungeon Key item and a Bow.

To get the Dungeon Key from the main hall of the Mines, head to the door on the right, get inside the room, and defeat all the enemies. Climb the stairs and you will find the Dungeon Key.

In the Mines, with the Dungeon Key in hand, head to the locked door north, right next to the engine. Use the Dungeon Key to open the door and head inside. A cutscene will trigger the unlocking of the bow at the end. Use it to kill the target and hit the red mark to open the grate to escape the room. Now take the door on the right of the grate, defeat all the enemies to eradicate the darkness around the lever.

Now make Sadi pull the lever, it will drop the steel gate, but the gate will have three dark eye balls attached to it. Quickly pull out the bow and shoot all three eyeballs at the same time. If you do fail to shoot all three of them, assign Sadi to the lever again to get all three next time.

Once you have shot all three eyeballs, you will unlock the way to the first automaton. Interact with the machine to get it working again. This will activate the engine in the main hall of the mines.

    Activate the Third Automaton

Head to the main hall of the Mines, and take the left door. You will find an inoperable automation right in front of you. We need to activate this automaton to free the last engine in the main hall.

Jump into the water on the right of the automaton and swim to the next room. This room has two levers on the ground. Pressing two at the same time will activate the automaton in the previous room. But unfortunately, one of the levers is blocked by a cage; you need to pull a hidden lever underwater to remove the cage above the lever on the ground.

Right next to the cage, you will see a pressure plate. Make Sadi stand on it. This will activate the locked door underwater, revealing access to the hidden lever. Now dive into the water and pull the hidden lever to remove the cage above.

Now, get on the surface and press both levers at the same time with the help of the Sadi to activate the automation. Head over to the previous room to activate the automation to power up the last engine in the main hall in the mines.

Once the mines are freed, head back to the blacksmith to report the news and complete the mission and progress ahead in Altheia: The Wrath of Aferi.
