How to Avoid Laser Detection in Altheia: The Wrath of Aferi

By Santosh PandaAugust 21, 20253 Mins Read

Red lasers are never your friend in any video game; you must avoid them at all costs to survive. In Altheia: The Wrath of Aferi, you must avoid the laser to continue with the quest and unlock a new ability for Sadi. The laser room here can be tough, since the laser pylon will immediately start shooting once it spots Lili.

    How to Avoid Laser Detection

Altheia: The Wrath of Aferi, Lili crouching behind the barrier in the laser room

The only safe way to move through the laser is by using a crouch key. Getting caught in the laser AoE spot will result in getting shot. Even if you are not in the laser’s AoE zone, you will also get shot.

When you get to the room with a laser detection machine in the middle, getting spotted here will be a rough way to die. The moment you place the ball on the activator, the laser pylon will become operable in the middle of the room. You will also unlock the locked door, but the path to the door will be blocked by a rotating laser circle.

You will notice all the barriers that were once up and now have slid into the ground. The only way to activate them is by standing on the pressure plate next to them. Assign Sadi to stand on the pressure plate (something that you will regularly be doing when solving puzzles – like the Moving Ball Puzzle later in the game), and it will activate the barrier next to it. Now you can stand behind the barrier to block out the laser’s vision and its upcoming laser attacks.

If you decide to walk or run, you will immediately get spotted even if you are not in the laser’s line of sight. Here, the only way to move to the next pressure plate is by crouching. Time your move, and crouch only when the laser sight moves from your current spot. When you decide to move, also remove Sadi from the previous pressure plate and make him stand on the next one.

So, when you get to the next pressure plate, the barrier will already be up, and you will get protection from the upcoming bullets.

Repeat the same steps until you get to the end of the room. Always crouch and use the barriers to block out the laser’s attack. It’s the only way to survive in this area. This area is the very first time you learn about the crouching in Altheia: The Wrath of Aferi.
