Mafia Old Country Will Get Free Ride Mode Soon

By Jorge AguilarAugust 15, 20253 Mins Read

Hangar 13 has officially confirmed that a free update for Mafia: The Old Country is on the way, and it will bring the fan-favorite Free Ride mode to the game in the coming months. This new mode is expected to add new activities and gameplay content for players to enjoy after they’ve finished the main story. This is a big deal for fans who want to spend more time in the gritty world of 1900s Sicily, especially since the first game in the series, Mafia: Definitive Edition, also had a similar Free Ride mode that was a huge hit with players.

If you’re not familiar with it, the original Free Ride mode gave players a chance to roam the game’s world with new activities like Phone Booth Missions, races, and Taxi Missions. It also lets you mess with the game’s settings, like changing the weather and the time of day, all while having access to your full armory, garage, and outfits.

While we don’t know if The Old Country will have the exact same features, the developers have promised it will add “new activities and gameplay content,” so you can expect a similar kind of experience. This is great news for anyone who loves exploring the world of Mafia without the pressure of the main story.

While you’re waiting for the Free Ride mode to drop, the developers also mentioned there’s still plenty to do in the game. You can revisit the Valle Dorata to hunt down hidden collectibles in Explore mode or replay the story with the full Sicilian voiceover.

This isn’t like an open world game where you can relive your Summer memories or anything. This is more like a free roam mode.

Best of all, you’ll still have every outfit, collectible, car, Charm, and other unlockables you earned during your first playthrough. So, if you’ve already completed Enzo’s journey into the criminal underworld, you’ll have a chance to go back and experience it all again with a fresh perspective.

Free Ride Mode for Mafia Will Be Free

It’s really cool to see the developers still supporting the game after its launch, especially with a free update. The addition of Free Ride mode is a perfect way to give players more of what they love. It’s a great way to extend the game’s life and give fans a reason to keep coming back.

Even if you’re not a huge fan of free-roam modes, you have to appreciate the fact that they’re adding more content at no extra cost. It’s a great gesture for the community that has already shown so much support for the game.
