Fellowship Explained (& How To Increase) In Tales Of The Shire

By Jorge AguilarJuly 30, 20254 Mins Read

Tales of the Shire, a cozy Lord of the Rings game, is bringing in fellowship levels to the game. This may sound like something out of the movies, but it’s actually a lot more complex than just a group of people.

Your Fellowship level matters a lot if you want to get ahead in the game and use all the cool new features. Instead of letting this number sit, you should actively be trying to learn what it is and how it works. Once you understand it, you’ll get addicted to bringing it up.

What Is a Fellowship in Tales of the Shire?

In Tales of the Shire, the term “Fellowship” refers to an important progression system that tracks the overall growth and success of Bywater, the village where you live. Unlike the “Fellowship of the Ring” from The Lord of the Rings, this is not about a specific group or item. Instead, it is a broader measure of how the village is improving and how much you are helping it become an officially recognized place.

Fellowship represents the sense of community and teamwork in Bywater. As you take part in different Hobbit activities, such as forming friendships with the villagers, joining local clubs, and finishing tasks called “tales,” you add to the Fellowship level. This level shows how well you are uniting the community and turning Bywater into a successful and well-known part of the Shire.

You can think of Fellowship as a way to track your impact and how effectively you are creating a happy, thriving home for all the Hobbits in the village. It is a clear reflection of your work to make life better for everyone around you and to raise the village’s reputation.

In Tales of the Shire, raising your Fellowship level is essential for moving forward in the main story and helping Bywater become an official village. There are three main ways to increase your Fellowship: building relationships with the townspeople, leveling up clubs, and completing tales (quests).

Build Your Relationships With Other Hobbits

One way to earn Fellowship is by strengthening your friendships with the 15 townsfolk living in the Shire. You can do this by cooking meals and inviting them to Shared Meals. Any meal will improve your friendship, but making a character’s favorite dish gives the best results.

To set up a Shared Meal, use the writing desk in your Hobbit-hole, pick a location (Home for two guests or The Three-Farthing Stone for four), choose who to invite, and send out the invitations. The meal happens the next day, and you’ll need to go to the location with meals in your backpack (or from your pantry if at home) and place a dish in front of each guest.

The tastier the meal, the more friendship points you’ll gain. Fulfilling a character’s cravings or preferred flavors might also earn you gifts, but only the meal’s deliciousness affects the friendship experience. While leveling friendships is the slowest way to grow Fellowship, it’s still a steady method.

    Level Up Your Clubs

A rewarding way to increase Fellowship is by leveling up clubs. You can do this by completing missions for different clubs, which are posted on the board at The Ivy Bush Inn.

For example, the cooking club asks you to make meals with certain ingredients, the fishing club requires catching specific fish, the foraging club involves collecting resources, and the gardening club focuses on harvesting particular seeds. You can work on up to ten club tasks at once. Once you finish a mission, you must talk to the club leader to officially complete it and receive your reward, which adds to your Fellowship.

    Complete Every Tale You Have

The best way to boost your Fellowship is by completing tales, which are quests given by villagers or found while exploring. These quests can involve many different tasks, such as finding items, talking to villagers, or going on scavenger hunts.

Tales give the biggest increases to Fellowship, making them the fastest way to advance the main story. Focusing on these quests, whether they’re main story missions, side quests from villagers, or those marked with white sparkles during exploration, will help you raise your Fellowship level the quickest in Tales of the Shire.
