If you feel stuck without any progress in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, then looping is a highly beneficial method for you. Looping in Umamusume is all about training your Uma characters rigorously by using previous training results to improve their gameplay.
However, looping can be grindy for some players and is RNG-based. But, if you are lucky, you might achieve a 3-Star early on in your training. And while looping does not improve your chances of acquiring better factors, it does help to dedicate time and effort to enhance an Uma’s overall performance.
In today’s article, we’ll break down the process of looping in Umamusume.
How to Loop in Umamusume?

Step 1: Choose a Favorite Uma
For starters, use an Umamusume affinity calculator, and choose your favourite character to loop with. If you want to hit high numbers, best go for a character who is already stronger than the rest.
Step 2: Choose the Loop Uma’s Parent Umas
Opt for parent-Uma who have higher numbers and are powerful stats. The more powerful a parent, the stronger the loop for Uma to train for your team synergy.
Step 3: Choose the Grandparents, Uma, for the Loop Uma
Up next, opt for sub-legacies with higher numbers. Slot them into places. The next task is to choose two more sub-legacies and complete the group. Opt for used characters with a variety of skills that you can pass down to your targeted Uma.
Step 4: Opt for Higher Affinity
Ensure that your total Affinity is 151 or higher. The better your parent and grandparent character choices are, with the ability to win more racing styles, the better your Affinity for the child Uma.
If you choose highly-skilled grandparents, they’ll result in competitive parent-Umas, who in turn, will create a strong and indomitable looped Uma.
Step 5: Use Grandparents’ Umas in Races
While racing with your Grandparents Uma, prioritize Sparks over winning and stats sync. In my opinion, aim for 3 Stars in Speed, Stamina, and Power. Of course, you can eye other stats too, depending on your preferred build.
Step 5: Choose Your Trainee and Your Legacy
Trainee is the Uma you play as, while Legacy are the characters who run. As the game progresses, you can switch among your Trainees and Legacies to build optimal teams to earn higher stats.
As you progress your gameplay, you’ll come to improve your aimed stats for the Child Uma. It’s a long-term process, but it renders good results as you keep playing.
