To win any career mode in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, you’ll require the right support cards, one of which is the speed cards. It’s pretty self-descriptive as to what the cards do, helping you train your favorite Umamusume’s (horse-girl) speed stats.
However, some of these cards are the crème de la crème of the lot, giving a much-needed edge when it comes to training your Umamusume’s running prowess. So, with that said, here are five different speed support cards currently in Umamusume: Pretty Derby that will help you during those grueling training sessions.
5 Different Speed Support Cards to Improve Your Umamusume’s Running Prowess in Umamusume: Pretty Derby
Much like every support card available in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, the game provides players with various speed cards across different rarities, each with a different stat attached to it. So, depending on the support card you use, your Umamusume in Pretty Derby can learn the speed skill effortlessly with various stats attached to them.
With that established, here are five cards that you should try to get for yourself. Just hope the gacha gods bless you.
5. SSR Tokai Teio (Dream Big!)

The first card in this list is the SSR Tokai Teio card, which might be one of the weakest entries as a speed support card in this list. However, it is an SSR card, meaning it comes with certain perks when used in training.
For starters, the SSR Tokai Teio comes with a secondary stat bonus, focusing on Power. So, if you are training your Umamusume with this support card equipped, their Power stat will also improve. It won’t be as good as a focused training, but passive training is still a welcome option. Additionally, SSR Tokai Teio provides a 10% race bonus, and after reaching its Max Limit Break, it gives a 35 speciality priority
4. SSR Sakura Bakushin O (Eat Fast! Yum Fast!)

Sakura Bakushin O has gained a lot of fans in recent months thanks to her catchy theme song (Bakushin, Bakushin, Bakushinshin!). Not only is she a trainee you can get and improve, Sakura Bakushin O also has a speed support card based on her in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.
Since Sakura Bakushin O was known for her speed in real life, her support card also focuses on raw speed training. She provides a 20-speed bonus initially, which becomes 10% extra if her card reaches the Max Limit Break.
It doesn’t end there. If you want to utilize the rainbow boost during training, this card comes with a friendship gauge point of 40 and 50 speciality point of 50. It unfortunately has simple features compared to other cards, but enough advantages to make it to our list.
3. SSR Biko Pegasus (Double Carrot Punch)

The SSR Biko Pegasus speed support card is our third choice, which significantly improves the speed training experience. Using Biko Pegasus provides an initial bonus on speed, letting you improve your Umamusume’s speed skill beyond the standard times.
Furthermore, at Major Limit Break, this speed support card in Umamusume: Pretty Derby will provide a 10% race bonus, meaning your trainee will perform even better in further races in a career, gaining more stats and an added edge over their opponents.
The significant advantage of using this card is its gold skill, called “In Body and Mind.” Maxing out in Body and Mind to gold status provides a velocity boost during the final moments of the race. Hence, your trainee can either gain a speed advantage over her and others at the last moment, or she can catch up and become a top-three winner in the final moment.
So, use this card if you want last-minute insurance protection against a bad build. Alternatively you can use it if you want to increase the speed stat during training.
2. SSR Nishino Flower (Even the Littlest Bud)

I found one of our second-favorite cards before building the Speed and Wit-focused deck for Sakura Bakushin O’s career. Before that, I performed one of my daily support card pulls. It’s also a card that I can flex to everyone, because I own it, unlike the Kitasan Black SSR card.
SSR Nishino Flower comes with a higher initial friendship gauge compared to the standard friendship gauge most speed support cards come with. Unfortunately, to balance the higher friendship bonus, the card comes with a lower race bonus and without any special priority.
However, SSR Nishino Flower does have an edge over the other SR or non-SR/SSR cards – its Charming status through event triggers. Thanks to this, Nishino Flower can help rapidly build friendships with other selected support cards during training.
So, if you don’t have a lot of great selection of decks, you can still reap the benefits thanks to the SSR Nishino Flower. It is a card to look out for when you are doing your free/daily pulls.
1. SSR Kitasan Black

At the top of our speed support card list is a favorite card, one that has become a go-to choice for many players in Umamusume: Pretty Derby. SSR Kitasan Black is, without a doubt, one of the best support cards currently in-game if you want to focus on training your Umamusume’s running. This is highly wanted while rerolling because it delivers impressive speed points and also comes with numerous features.
Practice Perfect ensures your Umamusume doesn’t fail in speed training during events. Of course, it doesn’t completely ignore the low energy, but only decreases the chances of getting a debuff.
It also provides +10 energy from chain events, and unlocking the card’s full potential through Max Limit Break (which involves enhancing the card to reach its maximum level of 50) allows the card to prioritize frequent speed training activation. So, you can effortlessly rainbow-train your Umamusume in speed and receive a boost.
I wish SSR Kitasan Black were permanently in my deck for my daily runs. Fortunately, thanks to a friend sharing the card, I can reap the benefits of it. So, overall, it is a preferable choice of a card to add to your deck alongside better SSR cards in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.
